Day 2: Oigawa Railway + Starry Sky Train | Fairy Tale Vibes
Day two kicked off with a ride on the Oigawa Railway to Oku-Oi Kojo Station.
Picture-perfect bridges over a lake surrounded by autumn colors—this place screams Ghibli vibes! Take your time at the nearby cafes and soak in the views
The highlight? The Starry Sky Train!「星空列車」
On weekend nights, you can ride under Japan’s second-most beautiful night sky. The stars were dazzling, and the guided stargazing added an extra layer of magic.
Warm Furry Farewell at Hananeko Farmhouse Inn
We wrapped up our trip with a cozy stay at Hananeko Farmhouse Inn.「花ねこ農家民宿」
Best part? Four adorable cats ready to cuddle. Cat lovers, this is your dream spot!
Every meal featured homegrown veggies, and the homemade jam + freshly baked bread? Chef’s kiss!
By Train: Please check the Oigawa Railway website for operating days, event information (such as the Thomas the Tank Engine train), and fares. Some sections may be suspended due to disaster damage, so it is recommended to check in advance.
By Car: Approximately 2 hours from Fukuroi IC or Shizuoka IC on the Tomei Expressway.

Insect repellent may be necessary depending on the season.
Oigawa Railway tickets: Fares vary depending on the section, but a one-way ticket between Kanaya and Senzu costs approximately ¥2,000. A separate fee is required for riding the SL train.
Accommodation at farmhouses (Minshuku): Prices vary depending on the accommodation, but expect to pay around ¥10,000 to ¥20,000 per person for one night with two meals.
注：大井川鐵道乗車券：区間によって異なりますが、金谷～千頭間の片道運賃は約2,000円程度。SL列車に乗車する場合は別途料金が必要です。
民宿などによって異なりますが、1泊2食付きで10,000円～20,000円程度。
季節によっては虫除け対策も必要です。
